Oval FSC Voting Positions:
Vice President/President Elect
Three-year term: One year serving as VP, assisting President as assigned; Assumes position of President following year, and Past-President the following year. May not be a coach
Treasurer
One-year term: maintaining all financial records for the club. Provides monthly budgets and accounting. Responsible for filing the club’s annual taxes.
Secretary
One-year term: keeps minutes for all club and board of directors meetings (1 meeting per month); supervise all business documents/reports. Help president disseminate information to club membership via emails, newsletters, web site, and bulletin boards.
Fundraising Committee
One-year term; responsible for soliciting sponsors from the business community, organizing activities where such fundraising would be profitable and monitoring fundraising events that benefit skaters as approved by the Board. (Maybe 1 fun fundraising event per year and then a giveback event..ie; collecting food donations for Thanksgiving, or making blankets to donate to Primary Children’s, or collecting items to give to homeless shelter).!
Non-Voting Member Positions and Descriptions:
Test Co-Chair (alongside a club coach)
One-year term: Coordinates skating test sessions hosted by the Oval FSC (usually 3 per year). Duties include finding judges, creating schedule, inputting results with USFS, and files paperwork
Hospitality
Provides hospitality for judges and officials at test sessions, and at the Oval Spring challenge competition and runs cast party after the spring ice shows
Sanctions & Competition Chair
One-year term: Responsible for submitting all sanctioning of special events as required by USFS. Also coordinates competition, if OFSC is the host. Come to 1 meeting each month.
Information Officer
Maintains the club website, social media, pages, and blog. Assists secretary with club and coach bulletin boards
Activities
One-year term: Plans and coordinates monthly activities for club off-ice nights (typically 1 per month); Additional activities typically include: opening social, National skating month party, Summer parade, clinics, and other events.
SafeSport
Ensures Club Board Members complete SafeSport Training. Report on club coaches progress of SafeSport Training.
